Rental Use & Care Policy
At Little Footprint Rentals, we are committed to providing safe, clean, and high-quality toys for your child’s enjoyment.
To ensure all children have the best experience, please review the following guidelines carefully.
Supervision
Children should always be supervised while playing with rented toys to ensure safe use and prevent damage.
How to Clean the Toys During Your Rental
We want your child to enjoy our toys safely and happily throughout the rental period. If you wish to clean the toys while they are in your care, here are simple, safe, and effective cleaning instructions—especially for our mostly wooden toy collection:
Cleaning Toys
-
Warm Water and Mild Soap: Use a soft cloth or sponge dampened with warm water and a tiny drop of mild dish soap (like you’d use for handwashing dishes). Be very careful to use only a small amount of soap and avoid soaking the wood.
-
Diluted Vinegar Solution: Mix 1 part white vinegar or apple cider vinegar with 4 to 10 parts water. This is a natural way to disinfect the toys.
-
Baking Soda Paste (for stubborn spots): Mix baking soda with a bit of water to make a paste. Gently rub the paste on any stuck-on dirt or grime with a soft cloth, then wipe clean.
What to Avoid
-
Never soak or immerse wooden toys in water. This can cause them to swell, warp, crack, or lose their paint.
-
Do not use harsh chemicals, bleach, disinfectant sprays, or furniture polish, as these can be harmful to children and damage the wood.
-
Avoid abrasive scrubbers or scouring pads that can scratch the wood finish
Normal Wear and Tear
We expect normal wear and tear from regular use, which does not affect your security deposit.
Examples of normal wear and tear include:
-
Minor surface scratches or scuffs on wooden or plastic parts
-
Slight fading or dulling of colors due to regular use
-
Small marks or light dirt that can be cleaned off easily
-
Loose but intact fabric or soft parts showing gentle stretching
-
Minor loosening of non-critical parts like hinges or wheels (that do not affect function)
-
Slight wear on batteries or electronic components from normal use
-
Normal wear and tear is different from damage caused by misuse, neglect, or accidents.
